Two Everton Changes For Merseyside Derby

Everton make two changes for tonight’s 244th Merseyside derby as James Garner and Ben Godfrey return to the starting XI.

Garner was named among the substitutes for Sunday’s 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest, while Ben Godfrey last started in the 1-1 draw at Newcastle United earlier this month. They both come in for Andre Gomes and Ashley Young respectively, who drop to the bench.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin also maintains his place spearheading the Everton attack after overcoming the slight knock he sustained against Forest.

Behind him are a midfielder trio of Garner, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Idrissa Gana Gueye, who'll be flanked by Jack Harrison and Dwight McNeil - the latter set to make his 200th competitive career start.

Godfrey, James Tarkowski - captain for the evening - Jarrad Branthwaite and Vitalii Mykolenko complete the defence ahead of Jordan Pickford in goal.

Everton XI v Liverpool: Pickford, Godfrey, Tarkowski (c), Branthwaite, Mykolenko, Gana, Garner, Doucoure, Harrison, McNeil, Calvert-Lewin.

Subs: Virginia, Keane, Onana, Danjuma, Young, Gomes, Chermiti, Warrington, Hunt.
